Edu Bedia

Born in the Spanish city of Santander, Eduardo ‘Edu’ Bedia graduated from hometown club Racing Santander’s youth academy. He made his La Liga debut in 2008 and went on to play just under 20 games in his debut season.

Edu moved on from Santander and made appearances for various clubs in Spain’s first and second division. He had successful stints with Hercules and Barcelona B where he further honed his skills as a central midfielder.

After a brief stint with Real Zaragoza, Edu joined FC Goa for the fourth season of the Indian Super League in 2017 and has been with the club ever since. Overall, the Spanish midfielder has amassed 82 appearances for the club and has scored 12 goals and provided 13 assists.

He was appointed as captain ahead of 2020–21 and represented the Gaurs in the 2021 AFC Champions League, scoring against Persepolis F.C. in April 2021, in the process, he became the first player to achieve this feat for an Indian club in the competition’s group stage.

In October 2021, FC Goa clinched their first ever Durand Cup title defeating Mohammedan SC 1–0, in which Edu captained and scored the loan winning goal.
