The partnership between FC Goa and RB Leipzig ushers in what will be the benchmark for everyone in Indian football and the Bundesliga. It is the coming together of two of the biggest names in Indian and German football in what promises to be a partnership that augers a shift in the footballing landscape in both the countries.

FC Goa and RB Leipzig have been definitive figures in the footballing landscape of India and Germany this past decade, redefining the beautiful game as we know it.

The first six seasons of the Indian Super League have seen FC Goa embody the word flair on the football field. The most consistently successful side in the ISL, FC Goa is the only team to reach five playoffs, record 50 wins and score more than 200 goals during this short span of time.

Uniting and representing the passion of the football-crazy land of Goa, the club has become synonymous with excellence on the football pitch. The current holders of the ISL League Winners’ Shield and the Super Cup, FC Goa also became the first Indian team to secure a place in the AFC Champions League last season.

RB Leipzig on the other hand has become a household name – not only in Germany but world football. The ‘Red Bulls’, as they are fondly called, started off in the German 4th Division in 2009, and within the space of 7 years secured a place amongst the elite of German football – in the Bundesliga.

Astute scouting, player development and an all-around vision for excellence in all facets have led them to create a niche for themselves in the world arena. A team that is loved by their supporters and respected by all and sundry, RB Leipzig has become a regular fixture in the UEFA Champions League with the 2019/20 campaign seeing them reaching the semi-finals of the competition.

And now the Bull and the Gaur lock horns and stride together towards even brighter days ahead.

During this period of collaboration, coaches from RB Leipzig’s Academy will be welcomed to Goan shores to impart knowledge via workshops. FC Goa will also be sending coaches and players from the club’s youth set-up for further training and learning the intricacies of the game at RB Leipzig’s Youth Academy.

The Gaurs and The Red Bulls will work in tandem not only to help each other to grow internationally, but also for the development of football in India. The partnership will see both clubs launch a nationwide Soccer Camp programme. The FC Goa National Soccer Camps, both online and offline, supported by RB Leipzig will make superior footballing skills & knowledge accessible to all football enthusiasts across India.
