My Best XI: Hugo Boumous

A Solid Backline
They say you win Championships from the back, and strong defences are the backbone to any successful team, which is why I have chosen the very best in modern day football to be a part of my team.
Marcelo and Dani Alves have won it all and proven themselves as top full backs, while the central defensive pairing of Sergio Ramos and Virgil van Dijk looks unbeatable and unmatched in strength and leadership.
Guarding the back four is Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who has been the Blaugrana’s rock for many years now, and his best might still be yet to come.
A Midfield Full of Class
When it comes to midfield, one always looks for the right mix of creativity and solidity, and I believe these bunch of players have all that and much more.
The player I admired and looked up to the most growing up was Andres Iniesta. He made the Barcelona team tick and brought players like Lionel Messi into the game.
Having him in my team was a no-brainer, and adding Xavi Hernandez alongside him makes the midfield even stronger.
Zinedine Zidane was a huge part of my childhood personally, and his flair and ability is almost unmatched, which is why he goes into the team as well.
Forwards Born to Score Goals
To win games, one must score goals, and as a generation we should feel privileged to have seen two of the very best in the world sparring to be at the top of the mountain.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are arguably the greatest players ever seen, and can score goals for fun.
Providing them support up front is a man who is no stranger to scoring goals himself, and Ronaldo Nazario of Brazil is an automatic choice.
This trio of talented players and born goal scorers wraps up a team that would be my personal favourite.
