Lenny Rodrigues: 5 movies I love and you should too

These times are tough and we all know how big a responsibility there is on us to stay at home and be responsible for one another. We are not used to these kinds of things but this is the greatest crisis we have seen in this lifetime.

But this is the new normal now. It’s hard, but we have to embrace it and while doing so, have some fun as we spend our time majorly at home. Everyone must have been watching a number of films these days and today I want to share some of the ones that are really close to my heart.

#1 Titanic

I really don’t mind watching the Titanic sink over and over again. A favourite of mine ever since my young days, the film has always stayed with me.

I won’t go into the details much, but the captivating imagery and the story as a whole really enthralled me.

#2 Bajrangi Bhaijaan

I am a Salman Khan fan and this is my favourite film of his. He has maintained his charisma and charm, whilst playing out the character to perfection.

The film still has the power-punched dialogues and the signature humorous moments that every Samlan Khan film has. And yet what stood what was the story.

#3 Kaho Na Pyaar Hai

This is a film I guess I have seen the most number of times as a youngster. The craze it had along with its songs when I was a kid was unreal. I think I have danced to everyone one of those songs along with my friends as a kid.

And I have again managed to sneak in to view the film one more time during these days of quarantine.

#4 3 Idiots

A great underlying message is delivered here along with a lot of fun scenes and dialogues. That’s the way to really get your message through I guess. And 3 Idiots does it brilliantly.

It’s entertaining to the core while giving everyone hope of following their dreams. One of the best Indian films made.

#5 Bahubali

Now, this was an epic made in the very sense of the word. The larger than life story has larger than life characters who fit into it perfectly. Ok! There are places where the limits of your imagination are stretched but the way have been able to pull this together is really commendable.

I read about the filmmaking later on and I am really in awe of the effort that went into making this. And that made me watch some more times than I had originally planned.
