Hugo Boumous has won the Player of the Season award after being voted in by majority of fans following a sensational season for FC Goa.

The Frenchman was instrumental in the Gaurs finishing top of the league standings and subsequently booking their spot in the AFC Champions League.

Boumous ended the season with impressive stats that read 11 goals and 10 assists in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL), and his consistency proved vital towards the end of the campaign.

Fans were chanting Hugo’s name throughout the ISL season, and recognised the attacking midfielder’s efforts on a game-to-game basis, as he regularly dominated our “Gaur of the match” section as well.

In the end, the inevitable happened, as Boumous received a vast majority of votes from FC Goa fans and has now been crowned our Player of the Season.

A delighted Hugo Boumous recorded a message for his loyal fans, thankful for being voted the best player of the season, and also sent a plea of support to the fans during these tough times.

“Hello Gaurs! Thank you for choosing me as the Player of the Season. It would not have been possible without my teammates, and most importantly, without all of you,” Boumous said.
