Saviour Gama

Starting off as a left-winger, Saviour Gama shot to prominence when he replaced club captain Mandar Rao Dessai in the Indian Super League 2018-19 final. Gama’s performances drew widespread acclaim, as it was the youngster’s second-ever game in the ISL.

Gama also starred in FC Goa’s run to the Hero Super Cup title the same season. The Chicalim-born youngster played for FC Bardez in the TACA Under-20 League and SESA Football Academy in the GPL before being spotted at a FC Goa trial by then assistant manager and current Head of Youth Development and Technical Director at the club, Derrick Pereira.

In the 2019-20 season, the left-back managed to play in 11 games where he bagged his first goal for the club in the semi-final vs Chennaiyin FC. After adding the Super Cup a year before, the youngster added another trophy to his tally after the Gaurs finished at the top of the ISL table.
