Saviour Gama

Starting off as a left-winger, Saviour Gama shot to prominence when he replaced club captain Mandar Rao Dessai as a left-back in the Indian Super League 2018-19 final. Gama’s performances drew widespread acclaim, as it was only his second game ever in the ISL.

Gama also starred in FC Goa’s run to the Hero Super Cup title the same season. The Chicalim-born footballer played for FC Bardez in the TACA Under-20 League and SESA Football Academy in the GPL before being spotted at a FC Goa trial by then-assistant coach and current Technical Director at the club, Derrick Pereira.

In the 2019-20 season, Gama managed to play in 11 games where he bagged his first goal for the Club in the semi-final vs Chennaiyin FC. He went on to win the ISL Shield with the team, before lifting the Durand Cup as well the following season. Overall, the 26-year-old has made 76 appearances for FC Goa, scoring twice along with providing five assists.
