Leander D’Cunha: My Best XI

Hi Gaurs! It’s great to catch up once again. I’ve shared a bit about my journey from the Developmental team to the FC Goa first team, and today I want to share a bit more about myself.

It’s time to show you guys my favourite XI players, all of whom would be lethal if they ever play together. So here they are.

The right mix of talent and aggression

My backline would feature experience and youth in equal amounts, along with an aggressive edge to it.

Dani Alves is one of the best right backs in the game, and on the opposite flank I’d have Andy Robertson, who has emerged into a brilliant player in a short space of time.

In the middle I’d have the aggression and experience of Sergio Ramos and Carles Puyol, both of whom have lifted the World Cup.

A midfield full of maestros

I’ve picked three of the most creative players, and naturally born leaders in the heart of my midfield.

Steven Gerrard was the heart and soul of Liverpool not too long ago, and is going to play a similar role in my team.

It will help to have the creativity of Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez not too far behind to help make this an unbeatable midfield trio.

A dream trio of forwards

Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are largely considered the three greatest players in world football today, and I cannot help but think of a scenario where the three can play together.

I’d have Messi on the right, Neymar on the left and Ronaldo up front to make best use of this magical trio.
