Goa vs Garbage: FC Goa successfully complete their first clean-up drive

FC Goa successfully completed their first clean-up drive on Wednesday (27th November, 2019) with the help of the club’s partner Saahas Zero Waste. Goa-based running group Sole Mates played an integral part in helping the club complete the undertaking helping the act with their runners.

Gathering around the stadium at 6 am in the morning, the plog run lasted for an hour. The drive saw 15 runners starting the exercise at Ravindra Bhavan and go around the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, covering all the entry gates.

The drive, the first under the Goa. vs Garbage program adopted by the club saw a total of 50kg of waste gathered following the game between FC Goa and Jamshedpur FC.

All the waste collected was brought into the stadium and will now be segregated into 13 streams in line with our zero waste protocol. During the program, the runners were provided high strength gloves, garbage bags and water.

The coming days will see the club undertake more such projects as it looks to further their cause towards the community. You can also be a volunteer for the projects as we all look to make the Fatorda Stadium a zero waste one.

Let’s tackle trash together.
