Jamshedpur FC vs FC Goa: 3 key battles to look out for

FC Goa and Jamshedpur FC clash in Wednesday’s big Hero Indian Super League (ISL) game, and the stakes are high for the former.

A draw for the Gaurs would ensure they play in the AFC Champions League next season, but a victory would be the target nonetheless, and a run of four wins in row suggests it might well be possible.

A few interesting battles could develop as the game goes on, and here are three prospectives ones that have caught our eye:

#3 Mourtada Fall vs Sergio Castel

The defensive rock that is Mourtada Fall is accustomed to facing the top forwards in the league, and he needs to be at his best when he comes up against Sergio Castel.

Castel is back among the goals this season for Jamshedpur after a brief period out with injury, and will be chomping at the bit to get on the score sheet against the ISL leaders.

FC Goa have been vulnerable defensively, conceding unnecessary goals recently, and it is important that Fall steps up and stops the Red Miners from putting one into the back of the net.

#2 Ahmed Jahouh vs Aitor Monroy

A midfield battle could certainly be one to watch out for in this encounter, as two proficient central players go at it in the Steel City.

Ahmed Jahouh has been pulling the strings for FC Goa, while Aitor Monroy has done the same job for Jamshedpur this season.

Their numbers are quite similar to each other, which highlights exactly what they bring to their respective sides, and whoever comes out on top through the course of the 90 minutes might well decide which team takes home the spoils.

#1 Coro vs Memo Moura

When you need goals, having Ferran Corominas in your team is a huge plus, as FC Goa have learned in recent seasons.

In the battle for the Golden Boot, Coro is right up there with 13 goals this campaign, and might well seal the award with another outstanding display against Jamshedpur on Wednesday.

He won’t have it easy however, as the strong and agile Memo Moura will be out to stop the Spaniard from stroking his side into the lead.

Moura vs Coro may well be a battle that develops during the course of the game, and if recent form is anything to go by, the latter just might fancy himself once more.
