Bengaluru FC vs FC Goa: 3 Gaurs to watch out for

FC Goa take on reigning Indian Super League (ISL) champions Bengaluru FC take on in the Garden City on Friday with the league table tilted firmly in the favour of the Gaurs.

There is significant reason to believe that the visitors are going to be the favourites heading into this one, but if we know anything about Bengaluru, it is that they are always up for a fight.

There was nothing to separate the two teams when they met earlier in the season at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa, and chances are we could be in for an entertaining battle once again when these two giants take to the field.

That being said, a little bit of quality could make all the difference, and FC Goa certainly have the players to shift the balance in their favour.

As we look ahead to this big game, here are three FC Goa stars who can make all the difference.

#3 Jackichand Singh

Jacki could hold the key against Bengaluru

The Bengaluru FC vs FC Goa clash might well be decided by a bit of quality and guile in midfield and balls into the attackers would need to be precise if we are to see goals aplenty.

So who better than Jackichand Singh to help unlock the door and provide some much-needed impetus in the Gaurs’ attacking third.

He may not have been banging in the goals like some others in the Goa side, but ‘Jacki’ brings with him everlasting batteries and a desire to push forward at every instance.

The winger has three assists to his name this season and was a starter against Chennaiyin FC in the most recent Goa game, which tends to suggest he may be one of the first names on Sergio Lobera’s team sheets once again.

Moreover, the talented Manipuri tends to do well against Friday’s opponents, and might well have the pace to trouble the opposition once again.

#2 Ahmed Jahouh

Can Jahouh make it two in two?

Ahmed Jahouh was on target against Chennaiyin FC, scoring the very first goal of the game and marking his first goal of the season as well.

While he may have blown hot and cold at times, the Moroccan is full of confidence after a good game last time out, and will almost surely start against Bengaluru FC as well.

The midfield battles in this match will be interesting to say the very least, and Jahouh could have a major say in whether or not the Gaurs can get the job done.

His service into the forward lying players and support to the back four could be crucial, so expect Jahouh to see a lot of the ball in this one.

#1 Hugo Boumous

Boumous will be vital for the Gaurs on Friday

Hugo Boumous has come into his own recently, and has quickly emerged as one of the most dangerous players in ISL 2019-20.

Boumous is one of the best when he has space to run into, and his popularity with the fans is a testament to his work ethic and desire to run the channels and deliver killer passes.

He has 3 goals and 4 assists already in a short period of time, and chances are that he may be involved in goal-scoring opportunities once again when the Bengaluru game comes along.

When Coro isn’t out there to get you, Hugo surely will.
